Rude remarks from she who must be obeyed that postings are not frequent enough!!
Definitely the pot calling the kettle black!!!
Spent the night in Sydney after putting her on the plane. Then after shearing two bonsai, travelled back home along the coast via the new seacliff bridge which looks freaky as you come down the hill towards it, but when you are on it, you are concentrating on the traffic and really don't see much.
Quiet day yesterday. Himself more relaxed with better pain relief.
Tried to clean the pond this morning. Got the deep area done, and the new waterlilies in. When we tried to clean out the blue sedge, it was too tough. After falling into the water twice and cutting my finger on the knife we were using to saw the root mat apart, it was decided to desist for the time being and try again later.

After three weeks in Ballina, she flew back on 21 Jul to Sydney, was collected from the plane and driven back to Canberra. Very quiet drive because she said there was nothing interesting to talk about from the Ballina stay.
Next morning asked me very quietly if she had been away as himself had said that she had been to northern NSW and she had no recollection of it. Very put out when I confirmed it was so.
We have Home Help coming in x3 weekly to shower her in the morning so at least her undies are changed three times a week. Himself leaves sandwiches for her but she does not seem able to make herself a cup of tea.
The slab is down behind the back bedrooms for the next two water tanks which won't arrive until end September. Hope it rains after that.
Jean has been in Auckland for the last fortnight - her mother fell and broke her hip but was not found until the next day. In hospital with hypothermia and not expected to survive. Two days later sat up and chatted to all and sundry. I am given to understand that Lazarus' name came into the conversation. Pin and plate of hip has been done but there has been marked mental deterioration.
Dog, cats and goldfish are all well.
Fraggle invited me to a swing dancing competition in which she was competing. (Swing as in 1920s-1930s music) Held in Canberra. Involves a certain amount of back and front saulting.
She and her dance partner of one year WON. $1000 and a couple of rather nice trophies.

Been home a week now, no idea why she is on antibiotics and asks every time what the extra tabs are.

State championships went reasonably well. Apart from the fact that the caoch failed to remove the beat board after the mount, so when my athlete was over balanced forward on the start of her hiccough between bars, instead of standing up to high bar and incurring a composition deduction, she reversed her hands and went for a forward sole circle to get back into a kip cast feet on - she slammed her heels into the front edge of the beat board. Now she still cannot walk. Nothing broken but very severe bruising. I am hoping she will be able to train again after Australian Championships next week.

Phone message from Tikin yesterday. Says we don't email or post. This is a severe case of the pot calling the kettle black!!!

Himself is running the MAG State championships this morning and has arranged for enough roses to give all the boys one for their mothers after the comp.

Oomah came home from hospital today, very tottery, I don't think that she will be able to use the wheely walker but we shall see in a week or two. She still has a cough but it is nowhere near as bad as it was. (she doesn't remember that she has been in hospital now).
I think that she spent most of the day curled up on the lounge in the family room in the sun. Probably with the dog and/or cat up beside her.
Also first day of senior state championships. Second day tomorrow. Went very smoothly.
The crabapple is still alive and looking good. Can't wait for spring.

Big ward meeting with social worker, OT, physio, resident and registrar yesterday to sort out the state of play. Very cautious questions re had we noticed any deterioration in mental status in the recent past. When we said cheerfully that things appeared to have returned to normal, relatively speaking, there were sighs of reliefr. They thought that there had been as major mental disaster.
Home on Saturday. We now have a new wheely walker - the physio thought that walking was very unstable - couldn't believe that this was normal for her.
The social worker and OT thought htat home help for showering was the way to go and have arranged this.
Nothing can now be arranged for Nationals in July, or possibly South Africa in October until we see how she is when she gets home.

I note this morning that someone has put three stitches in Oomahs forehead. Her walking stick is still missing. I'm not entirely sure that she knew who I was this morning but himself said she was quite chirpy when he was in this afternoon. There appears to be a continence problem which has only arisen since hospital entry.

Oomah went into hospital on Thursday after getting very weak and falling and hitting her head again. It was almost funny at the hospital - they were terribly worried about the blood all over her head but not worried at all about the pneumonia.
Ambulance got her there at about midday, transferred from A&E to CDU at 1900, finally transferred to ward at 1030 next day, and they managed to lose her canadian crutch in the process despite several reminders that it was there.
Himself saw her yesterday and said that the mental processes were not. Today she was not too bad but not real good either.
Today I wash all the bedding etc. Oh joy!!
